The Date, Datejust, and Oyster Perpetual all have 31mm case size options. The next smallest Rolex size for men is 34mm, including the Air-King, Date, and Oyster Perpetual.

Kept reading that the 34mm fits just right for a lot of people. In the picture I think it looks ok but in person it feels a bit off to me. I suppose I've never seen a 34mm in person but when I first saw it I almost did a double take. 34 looks perfect on you! My wrist is about the same size as yours and I love the size on me. I've tried it on at my AD a couple of times but still haven't pulled the trigger. I'm afraid I'll find it too similar to my DJ36.
The Rolex in 34mm maintains it's "presence" while others just look too small. It is kinda small for a man @ 34mm. Fits my wife perfectly, in all honesty it looks better on her than her 36mm Datejust. For me it's too small and I even consider a 36mm datejust to small for me, the new Explorer, Milgauss or Datejust II are much better in my mind (sizewise). For your wrist size, which is fairly large, perhaps a 38mm dress Watch might suit it better, but no, 34mm is not too small!
I thought the 34mm would be too small but I took a chance on one and can say it works well for me. Not too noticeable. The smooth bezel on the 36mm sometimes makes it appear smaller. No. Pictures can be very misleading when it comes to display of watch size. 34 is way to small for a man, unless you have a super small wrist and a small builded body, it might work. The smaller watch is way more comfortable and, after wearing it more often, the bigger watches feel big instead now. If you're getting it on a bracelet, chances are the links are wonky and won't sit perfectly flush on your wrist (due to the age). Simple answer is to try it on. Not 50, but 50+ -> 60 dungeons, the mobs drop a not negligible amoumt of gil, but even moreso the stuff you get from desynthing drops can be worth a pretty penny too. It won't be THAT good, but it's something. You could also totally do it for level 50 dungeons, but it would obviously be even worse.
