As soon as I noticed chipping I emailed YSL customer care and they replied right away and said their quality department wanted the bag to look at if repair is possible.
I purchased the medium Downtown YSL bag only 2 months ago and now the 2 brass set screws have fallen out-- they hold one of the handles on to the bag. I was unable to locate the screws. The bag was sitting on my lap at the time, it wasn't being "abused"!!! I can't believe it happened.
