The collection, Search for the Golden Fleece (Spring/Summer 1997), was presented at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris on January 19, 1997, [10] as part of the Paris Fashion Week. The garments were made in white and gold (as Givenchy's label colours), but in the words of the British designer: [ 11 ]Dress, ivory silk with gilt embroidery, part of The Search for the Golden Fleece Collection, designed by Alexander McQueen for Givenchy, Spring/Summer 1997. His first Givenchy collection, “Search for the Golden Fleece,” came about in McQueen’s mind after attributing the Givenchy logo with classical Grecian style. The entire collection was done in gold and white and included body corsets, humongous hair in the shape of horns, and immaculate tailoring.
