I have the 36mm Explorer and it already wears quite small (smaller than a DJ36) even with the metal oyster bracelet. I cannot imagine how small it would look on NATO sitting even higher off the wrist. I have put Submariners on NATO before, but I think the EXP looks best on the bracelet. I decided to put my new Explorer II on NATO this morning and I thought I would share a quick photo. I have a good selection of colors and every single strap that I tried looked great with the white dial.
We take an in-depth look at the new Rolex Explorer reference 124270, which takes traits from its old self, bringing it full circle.
The new bracelet. The Rolex 124270 Explorer 36mm 2021 - Image Credit: WatchGecko Online Magazine. Here we find one of the biggest and most noticeable differences. The once old, rattly and sub-par bracelet has now received the full modern-day Rolex treatment. The newest Rolex Explorer — whether in steel or two-tone — could be the first steel sports Rolex that doesn’t garner a waitlist. In the beginning, this won’t be the case, but I’d guess that things will settle out rather quickly. The size will make quick work of its potential .
The Oyster Perpetual Explorer 36 imparts a fresh elan to the sober, clean lines that have long established it as an icon. The smooth bezel in Oystersteel is robust yet elegant, and in perfect harmony with the Explorer’s iconic heritage. With the Explorer, Rolex rose to the challenge of accompanying extreme adventurers by designing a watch capable of withstanding high humidity, intense heat and freezing temperatures, such as those found on the highest peaks.
