We have earlier discussed the lug-to-lug of Rolex watches, but another important measurement about Rolex watches (and any other watch for that matter) is its thickness. The thickness of a watch greatly affects how it feels on the wrist and how well it sits. If a 41mm watch with a sporty, everyday feel is what you're after, Rolex has something really great for you here. The watch feels even slimmer than the other OP models due to the greater diameter-to-thickness ratio, and even with a tiny bit of lug overhang, it's still plenty comfortable due to the smooth connection between the case and bracelet. However, Rolex has manufactured a number of excellent watches – both vintage and contemporary – that have 34mm case diameters, and their highly versatile size allows them to look at-home on wrists of virtually any gender or measurement. It’s fitted with the now-standard paramagnetic blue Parachrom hairspring, which sits atop a variable inertia balance wheel. Automatic winding, shock absorbers, and a 28,800 train count feature as you’d expect, but a lengthy 70-hour power reserve is a welcome improvement.
Previously available in 34mm and 36mm cases, this is also offered for the first time in 39mm.
